Mary Beth Burns (Sister)
Mary Beth Burns is a native Chicagoan and was raised North Side Irish Catholic. All of her sisters are named Mary and her parents have earned credit in Heaven for having done so. Mary Beth received her B.A. in Speech and Performing Arts from Northeastern Illinois University in 1990. She graduated from The Second City training center in 1996 and went on to perform with their national touring company. Ms. Burns has donned the habit now since 2005 and has had much joy performing nationally and locally in the Late Nite Catechism series.
In Chicago she has performed with such talented theater companies as: A Red orchid, The Shattered Globe, The Generic Theatre Company, and the Improv Olympic. Mary Beth is a member of The Screen Actor's Guild and has appeared in several commercials and and industrial films. She has written two shorts screenplays: Old Maid, which has been screened nationally and internationally, and Piñata Mom, which is currently in production. She sends her love and gratitude to her family, the Benedictine Sisters of St. Scholastica Academy, the gang on Harold Way, and her amazing Chicago LNC team MTB, PJ, JC, RM & MS.
